Does Food Matter?

I think we can all agree that the human body needs to eat healthy. However, what does that mean to you? There are soooo many differing opinions on meat or no meat, diary or no dairy, caffeine or no caffeine, sugar or no sugar, gluten or no gluten... yadda yadda yadda.

I have been on some of the most strict diets as I had allergies to literally THOUSANDS of food items. I was so stressed about it all and this continued to provoke my autoimmune response.

I will never forget one birthday where my husband brought me a bowl of organic black beans with a candle in it because that was one of the only food items I was able to eat at the time. THIS was a humbling experience for me.

Finally, I went through over 4 years, 3 times a week receiving allergy treatments from my Naturopathic Doctor.

Here's what I have found...

I now can eat ANYTHING I choose to and 99% of the time have absolutely 0 negative reaction.

How? The treatments I went through taught my body to NOT be in a state of STRESS when I ate or touched the food. These treatments used breathing techniques and massage during the exposure of the food.

When I figured out how to adjust my body's reaction at a cellular level using this allergy technique (and under the supervision of my doctor), my body stopped reacting!

STRESS is huge when it comes to your body and how it reacts to food. I'm not just talking about work stress or family stress, I'm talking about environmental stressors, dehydration, plastics, metals, chemicals and other toxic stressors. All of these things may be depleting our natural healthy state. Alleviating as many stressors as possible may help your body's reaction to food.

When I was on the really strict eating plan, I was soooo super stressed about everything I was eating that it made it WORSE!

I learned to LISTEN to my body very carefully and feel how my body responded to different items. I realized that my body does not like carbonation. It makes my joints hurt, so I cut it out. I realized I love eating bread and cheese, but I gained five pounds! LOL. So, I've cut that out too.

Currently, I choose to eat vegan, gluten free, caffeine free and sugar free. My body LOVES when I eat this way because I make great food choices including tons of raw vegetables rather than nachos for lunch.

If I feel stressed about a certain food, I simply choose not to have it at that time. If I feel relaxed about a certain food, I tend to enjoy the experience and so does my body.

How do you feel around restaurants? Does it stress you out instantly wondering if the food will be harmful or helpful? How would it feel to not worry anymore?

I don't know about you, but I used to be so stressed about every food and drink going into my body. Now, WORRY FREE!!! So grateful!

*Please note, I am not a doctor or nurse and am not recommending any food choices for you. I am simply sharing my experience. I encourage you to seek the advice of your doctor when making your food choices.
